President Suzie called the meeting to order a little early as there were lots of fun things on the agenda. She gave thanks to all those who had volunteered serve at this meeting. And we were blessed again with John Hawkins at the piano and Jack Mitchell leading us in song.
Don Lisio gave a brief Sunshine Report, updating us on Bill Bonner who is continuing with chemo in AZ. following another surgery for his cancer. Sherry Collins continues her treatments and asks for our continued support and prayers.
Suzie thanked Mike Sullivan from Visiting Angels for providing our birthday cake for April birthdays. The cake was inscribed with Service Above Self for some very special members in our club who were rewarded with a beautiful Service Above Self certificate and high ball glass with the Rotary logo engraved on it.

Bob Krejci will be 98 next month and a Rotarian for 61 years! He has attended 234 makeup's and is noted for his skilled fund raising abilities. He is responsible for the great success of our RB Foundation, raising over $33,000 the last year he was in charge. He also wrote a book on how to raise fund for a non-profit organization.
Jack Mitchell is be 93 soon and has been in Rotary for 54 years... 26 of those with our club. He has been president of two of the four clubs he joined. Most of all, we know and love Jack for his wonderful music. He still plays the trumpet for us on special occasions and has delighted the community of RB at every major function held in our town.
General Carl Hoffman is 92 years old and has been in Rotary for 33 years... 32 with RB Rotary! Carl is a wonderful example of an American hero having served in Guadalcanal in WW II, wounded in Tarawa, led his men in Saipan, wounded there and went on to fight in one of the worst Pacific Island battles, Tinian. He served again in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He is a wealth of knowledge and information if you are every lucky enough to sit with him.
Bil Brown is 91 years old and has been a Rotarian for 58 years. He has enjoyed traveling to many international conventions and has kept tabs on our club through the years. He became our club historian and has produced and excellent record of our past accomplishments. Bil is also an artist in his free time.
Jim Reading is 87 years old and has been a Rotarian for 43 years. He was actually brought in to Rotary by the RI President at that time. He has been a member of 5 different clubs but liked ours the best. He was an excellent Sgt. at Arms before taking on the roll of our Treasurer for many years.
Bud Fellows is 85 years old and has been in Rotary for 45 years. For years Bud led the successful Hot Meals program for seniors. He was president of the Menlo Park Rotary Club and is now an honorary member of our club.
Bob Wells is 83 years old and has been a Rotarian for 25 years. He has been Sgt. at Arms, Treasurer and President of our club from 1991-92. Bob is one the founders of the RB Community, the RB Business Association and Director of the Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, he founded The Pathway of Pride, raising thousands of dollars for the RB Community Foundation.
Bill Bonner is 82 years old and has been in Rotary for 49 years. He has faithfully served on our setup crew and the the gifting and maintenance of the Rotary Clock as our Centennial Project. He is currently traveling back and forth to AZ for chemo treatments and we all are keeping him in our thoughts and prayers.
Paul Casterline is 81 and joined Rotary when he was only 19. He served in Korea and returned to civilian life as a Financial Services Advisor. He has been in our club for 15 years and is a valuable asset to our club.
Jim Edwards, the baby of this prestigious group at 81, has been a member of Rotary for 51 and has perfect attendance. He has been Sgt. at Arms for the District and Vocational Services Chair. He has served on the Foundation for 3 years and served as fine master for several years. Now he passes the bucket and keeps us honest with our fines!

Vern Cook introduced our speaker, Miguel Miller, meteorologist for the National Weather Service at the Rancho Bernardo Center. Miguel explained many of the complexities of weather forecasting and warnings. NWS is part of NOAA, a Federal agency, and one of 121 weather forecast offices across the US.
Gary Saks presented Miguel with a book as a speaker gift and the meeting was adjourned.
