Minutes of Rotary Club of Rancho Bernardo for November 3, 2011
President Bill called meeting to order. Rotary Club of Rancho Bernardo, the club that support the RI Foundation’s Annual Programs Fund.
Maureen Rouleau was a no show for the pledge so President Bill led the Pledge of Allegiance. John O’Neill provided a moving invocation emphasizing the willingness of complete stranger coming to the aid for their fellow man.
President Bill thanks all the volunteers helping to make the weekly meeting a success.

Dan Malloy introduced the several visiting Rotarian and Guests present today as is customary, the Club sang the Welcome song with President Bill attempting as the leader.
Family of Rotary Report: Troy Daum advised the Club good news is there is no news, however he did report that Gen. Carl Hoffman is still having challenges with his balance and Jack Mitchell is still going through with his transfusions.
President Bill made his weekly “In the Bull’s Eye” report and this week he focused on Rotary International Foundation. He explained a little on the beginning of the Foundation and how it has progressed and grown over the years. The Foundation has benefited a number of projects including Group Study Exchange, Ambassadorial Scholarships, and even our own Club’s Dictionary Project. To date more than 1 million individuals have been recognized as Paul Harris Fellows. John Goodrich is the Foundation chair for the Club and all members are encouraged to seek his advice and give to this great program.
It was with great enthusiasm that the Club was able to induct a new member, Joe Max. Kathleen Smith will be Joe’s mentor.
Suzie Lisio announced the Club nominating committee and reported those members who have been nominated for office next Rotary year. They are; Dave Brooks - President Elect, Gary Saks - President Nominee, John Goodrich - Vice President, Jeanne Hawkins - Secretary and Rick Bramble - Treasurer. She requested nominatations from the floor and announced elections will be forthcoming.
The Adopt-A-Family program is up and going again this year and the Chair, Don Lisio thanked all those members who have already donated and announced all donations need to be by next week. He requested assistance from the members to assist in shopping for gifts.
Charlie Crew, President of the RB Rotary Foundation, invited Mark Kersey to the podium to receive a matching grant. The club will match gifts to other non-profits dollar for dollar. Mark's charity recieved $2,000 half of which he contributed.

Our Club Foundation Chair, John Goodrich thanked all those who have donated so far and encouraged everyone to donate something. Even $100 will be appreciated and will go a long ways to improve mankind. He advised those members wishing to pay by credit card he has the form to make it happen.
Save the Date: the Club Holiday party will be held December 16th at the Bernardo Heights Country Club. More details will be forthcoming.
Ed Knight and Dave Brooks are heading for Ecuador to attend the project fair as well as deliver dictionaries. We all wish them safe journey.
Troy Daum has taken over the chair of RYLA and requested members wanting to participate in this great program to let him know. A couple members will have the opportunity to actually attend the camp and become a facilitator.
President Bill reiterated the need for assistance for the secretary, any member wishing to help out and be the assistant secretary please see Bill.
Diane Law introduced the speaker for today Kevin Mosses who spoke on health and fitness.
