We can indeed be proud and grateful that we live in a community with the means and the will to support great local organizations that enhance our well-being and quality of life.
We were dark last Thursday at the Heights, but many of our members joined me for the Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation luncheon that day. We had two tables of Rotarians to watch the RB Community Foundation give out over $100,000 in grants to support worthy community organizations in our area.
Several of our members are prominent in the Community Foundation, including Dave Brooks, who spoke about the Pathway of Pride project. Dave, Alex Lawn, and Michael Ortiz are on the Foundation’s Board of Directors. In addition, Dr. David and Charlene Zettel were Table Tent Sponsors. The video shown at the awards ceremony began with our past president and past District Governor Mike Stelman’s eloquent overview of the Foundation’s impact in our community.
Among the awarded organizations that our Rotary club also supports are: Interfaith Community Services, Poway OnStage, Poway Symphony Orchestra, and Spirit of the Fourth. We can be glad that the Foundation recognizes many of the same great organizations that our club supports. We can indeed be proud and grateful that we live in a community with the means and the will to support great local organizations that enhance our well-being and quality of life.

Ryoko and I wish each and every member of our great club a very Happy Thanksgiving!
