Community Service Projects

Ronald McDonald House

For the past several years, every 3 months our Rancho Bernardo Rotary Club members volunteer at and donate funds to the San Diego Ronald MacDonald House.  At each visit 10 Rotarians prepare hot meals for families who are caring for critically ill or injured children at local hospitals.  It is always a very rewarding experience for the volunteers who participate in such a valuable service to the community.

The Poway Unified School District Foundation and the Palomar Council PTA are collaborating once again to sponsor the 2019 PUSD Adopt-A-Family program. 
 
The program was started over two decades ago to bring a bit of holiday cheer to struggling families in our school district. We support just under 500 PUSD families. Families are identified by Student Services at each of the 39 PUSD schools with a focus on families living at or near the poverty level and families in crisis.  The holidays can be a difficult and stressful time for these families as they try to stretch their limited budgets to provide a memorable holiday for their children. The Adopt-a-Family goal is to make their holidays a little brighter.
